Cross Country Coach
Coach Schmandt is entering his 9th season as head coach of the Ironwood Cross Country Team. He graduated from Vassar High School (MI) in 2003 and Saginaw Valley State University in 2008. In his high school cross country career, Coach Schmandt qualified for the Division 3 Lower Peninsula State Finals three times, won a Regional championship in 2002, and earned All-Conference 1st Team selections three times. A passionate follower of sports all his life, Coach Schmandt has been busily involved with track and basketball teams as well as cross country since arriving in Ironwood in 2009. Coach Schmandt is looking forward to another successful season!
